演講大綱：
In this talk, I will describe my career path starting from a non-profit organization to a university and then to industry. The main focus of the talk will be on the benefits and drawbacks, as well as the technical and soft skills demanded of each field. I will speak with the experience of a quantitative social science researcher, but the information may generalize to other fields as well.
講者簡介：
Johnny Lin obtained his PhD in Quantitative Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2013. He worked at the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, New Jersey as an Associate Psychometrician for two years. He then returned to UCLA to serve as a Statistical Consultant in the Institute for Digital Research in Education (IDRE) for six years. Currently he is working in Amazon as a Research Scientist in the People eXperience and Technology Central Science Team (PXTCS) studying the causal impact of an intervention to recruit more diverse candidates.
