2016 TSCN Annual Meeting
Call For Symposia
TSCN is seeking proposals for symposia to be held during the 2016 Taiwan Society of Cognitive Neuroscience Annual Meeting on January 23rd, 2016. Two to four symposia will be scheduled, with up to two parallel programs in each two-hour time slot. Proposals will be evaluated by the TSCN conference committee.
Symposia should deal with contemporary research topics in cognitive neuroscience research.
Guidelines for symposia themes:
  1. Symposia can be organized along the lines of content (e.g., neural bases of working memory, visual perception, etc.) or methodology (e.g., multivoxel pattern classification, tDCS, etc.).
  2. We encourage novel themes, especially the ones that present advances and/or conflicting views in rapidly developing areas of research in cognitive neuroscience.
  3. We prefer talks within a symposium to be modestly related; cross-referencing among them are especially encouraged.
Guidelines for presentations:
  1. Individual talks should be between 20 to 30 minutes (including discussion), and the duration of a symposium should be 120 minutes.
  2. Each symposium should have 4 to 6 speakers.
Guidelines for submission
  1. Proposals from young investigators are especially encouraged.
  2. The symposium organizer must be a current TSCN member, but invited speakers are not required to be TSCN members.
  3. All speakers are required to register for the meeting.
  4. All speakers are limited to participate in one symposium.
  5. All speakers can submit to individual poster and/or talk presentation(s) with title(s) different from his/her symposium talk. See “Call for Abstract” for poster/talk submission guidelines).
There are two submission deadlines:
  1. First submission: The symposium organizer will submit a symposium proposal with title, an abstract (no more than 250 words), and a list of 4-6 potential speakers. The conference committee will evaluate the proposal and make decisions on whether to accept or reject it. Deadline: October 30th, 2015.
  2. Second submission: Conditional on the acceptance of the symposium proposal, the organizer will provide a final symposium submission with a title and the abstract (no more than 250 words) for the symposium, and a title and the abstract (no more than 250 words) of each talk. Deadline: November 25th, 2015. The final results will be announced by December 25th, 2015.
